A lovely copy with 21 hand-colored aquatints of daily scenes in Parisian life. Each plate is accompanied by a textual description. This is the more desirable edition, with 21 instead of 17 plates. Although the plates are dated 1822, there are no watermarks on the plates nor date on the title-page. Folio (37 x 27cm - not oblong). Text leaves occasionally browned by plate ink. Plates are generally in excellent condition, with a small spot of browning in lower margin corner to just a few. Bound in modern half morocco over marbled boards, part of original spine laid down.
